James Brown’s body has reportedly gone missing, according to one of his many children who came forward claiming kinship after his death.
LaRhonda Pettit has been trying to get access to the body of the deceased Godfather of Soul to get an autopsy performed, claiming his death was suspicious. There was never an official investigation into his cause of death at the time.Brown’s body has been kept at his daughter Deanna’s house since his death on December 25, 2006 while she prepares a public mausoleum, but according to Pettit it has now disappeared from the house.
“My daddy's body has disappeared. I have no clue where it was taken, but I need to know where,” Pettit said to the Daily Mirror.
“I'm convinced his death was suspicious and I want the people responsible brought to justice. The only way to do that is to exhume his body and have an autopsy. I cannot understand why one was never conducted.”
Brown died in Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia from congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
Pettit came forward as a daughter of Brown after his death. She is not mentioned in his will.
