Kate Ceberano Crowned Queen of Moomba

Kate Ceberano has been crowned Queen of Moomba. The Melbourne City Council has brought back the King and Queen of Moomba positions to generate new interest into the 55-year old Melbourne event.

It has been 10 years since Moomba had a monarchy.

Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum will stand along side his Queen as the King of Moomba.

Molly has been King before. He wore the crown back in 1985 but it is the first time for Kate.

Melbourne’s Moomba Parade will be on March 6.
