The Australian International Music Show got off to a big start with weekend internationals artists Jeff Martin from The Tea Party, Bruce Kulick of Kiss and local names like Kate Ceberano, The Verses and Shannon Bourne giving music fans and musicians an insight into their careers.
Jeff Martin’s workshop focused on songwriting while Kate Ceberano explained how to get the best from a performance. Bruce Kulick, of Kiss and Grand Funk Railroad fame held a guitar workshop while Ella and Jesse Hooper from The Verses spoke one on one with Greg Phillips from Australian Musician Magazine.
At the start of the morning, Chris Wilson, Jimi Hocking, Shannon Bourne and Ian Collard took music fans on a journey through the blues.
On Sunday, Christie Eliezer will be hosting a panel featuring Robben Ford, Redd Volkaert, Bruce Kulick and Jeff Martin. Jonathan Moffett, the drummer for Michael Jackson for 30 years up until Jackson’s death will hold a drum clinic, Dan Kelly will speak one on one with Greg Phillips and at 5pm prepare for the Fender Super Jam lead by Chris Cheney from The Living End and featuring Jeff Martin, Redd Volkaert, Stuart French and Phil Manning.
AIMS also features a trade show with thousands of instruments on display, free advice from the experts, performances, workshops and masterclasses.
The Australian International Music Show (AIMS) is on all weekend at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
