Peter Green was Fleetwood Mac. Before Fleetwood Mac went Hollywood with white witches they were a UK blues band driven by the talents of Peter Green.
Green wrote ‘Black Magic Woman’, covered later by Santana. The instrumental ‘Albatross’ was his. So was the classic ‘Oh Well’ which Fleetwood Mac still include in their set.Fleetwood Mac became a totally different band after Green left and looking at the side-projects Mick Fleetwood has played in over the years, I suspect even he would say that the Green days were Fleetwood Mac’s best musical moments.
