It is pretty hard to not know AC/DC are in Melbourne, Australia this week. The buzz is everywhere.
With the first of the Australian shows set for tomorrow night (February 11), AC/DC art, monuments and memorabilia are all over town.In AC/DC Lane, Cherry Bar co-owner and Acca Dacca aficionado, has transformed the prized Melbourne address into an AC/DDC shrine while the band is in town.
AC/DC Lane has been transformed with original art work by artist Ben Couzens. Young and journalist Patrick Donovan had the lane named after AC/DC in 2004.
The RAW Gallery in South Melbourne has a gallery of photographs taken by Phillip Morris in the 70s. Morris took the very first AC/DC publicity photo, captured the early days of Bon Scott and Scott’s final Australian performance. Entry is free.
The Melbourne Arts Centre is featuring Family Jewels, a free exhibition of AC/DC costumes, stage props, letters and even Angus Young’s schoolboy outfit. It is the first AC/DC exhibition held anywhere in the world.
AC/DC have 11 shows across Australia starting tomorrow (February 11, 2010) in Melbourne.
