Popkomm will be back in Berlin in 2010 after taking 2009 off.
The music conference and festival will be held at a new venue, the Berlin Templehof.Berlin Templehof is a decommissioned airport.
The building was built in 1923 and at the time was the third biggest integrated building complex in the world. It is still the third biggest behind Peking Airport and the Pentagon.
In 1948/49 Berlin Templehof was Berlin’s main airport and used for the Berlin Airlift for supplies for Berliners during the blockade.
After that, it was used by the US military and in 1985 - 2008 opened for public usage.
Popkomm will use the facility from September 10 - 12, 2010.
Popkomm 2010 will again feature the Marketplace, Conferences and Artist showcases.
The Marketplace features exhibitors from around the world including Europe, Asia, the USA and Australia.
The Conference will once again focus on the key talking points of the music industry.
In the evening, artists from all over the world will showcase for the industry.
The last Popkomm was held in 2008 and featured guest speaker Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees and showcase performances from Australian acts The Vagrants, Clare Bowditch, BugGirl and Ian Miller.
