Ozomatli live are incredible. The Los Angeles eight-piece blends Latin, hip-hop and rock to create the Ozomatli sound. They are yet another band to look for at Bluesfest 2010.
Ozomatli formed in Los Angeles in 1995 and released their first album on Herb Albert’s Almo Sounds in 1998.Jurassic 5 was an off-shoot of Ozomatli, formed by Chali 2na when he left the band.
Ozomatli appeared in Drew Barrymore’s movie ‘Never Been Kissed’ and an episode of ‘Sex and the City’.
They have won a Grammy Award, played Coachella and appeared at SXSW three times. (Actually, make that soon to be four. They will be playing at the KCRW showcase on March 17 in Austin at SXSW.
Ozamatli will play at Bluesfest over the Easter long weekend.
