Manufactured British pop act Girls Aloud spent more money than they made last year, with the blame being laid on their indulgent partying habits.
The Sun newspaper reports that the girls earned £1,234,267 last year, but managed to spend £1,262,572. That's a loss of £28,305, or 629 grams."It's not dire straits", a financial analyst told The Sun. "But when the money coming in is less than money going out, their spending has to be kept under control." We're unsure how long the analyst spent at business school to come up with such fiscal insight.
It would seem that the Pop Idol winners are the new pin-up girls for rampant, brainless consumerism, with Nicola Roberts saying, "I spend my money on shit. Stupid things I don't really need."
14-year-old Emily Harrington, who was questioned by her mother after purchasing Girls Aloud's recently released 'Greatest Hits' compilation, responded with a similar answer.
