I think the best part about being a music journalist is that you’re not just another giggling fan girl; you’re someone who gets to help promote the music that they’re making – you’re someone who gets to share in their journey more so than your average fan. Another great thing about it is that you will always have something to remember that interview by.

Well the first Soundwave Festival for 2014 is merely three days away and all anyone has been talking about is – which bands have pulled out. Don’t worry though it isn’t all doom and gloom when it comes to this year’s festival, some bands are still keen as mustard (I don’t know if I can really say that when talking about a metal band – but hey I do what I want) to play head to Australia and show us what they’re made of. One of those bands being The Defiled; we spoke with Stich D and found out how he is feeling.

They’ve just released an EP on ITunes, they’re in the studio recording a brand new album, they’re throwing parties for university students over O Week, they’re about to head to Australia for an Australian Tour and they’re chatting with Undercover FM late on a Tuesday night. For those of you who didn’t quite get the hints I am talking about SIX60, New Zealand’s’ own five piece rock band.

It’s not every day you get to spend the afternoon (or morning depending where in the world you are) practicing Aussie Slang with Swedish hard rock/metal bands, so this reporter was delighted to have the opportunity to do so with Hardcore Superstar’s very own Joakim ‘Jocke’ Berg. We also managed talk all things Soundwave!

Aussie rockers Greenthief are just a few short days away from releasing their debut album ‘Voyage’ and are getting ready to head out on a headline tour to promote it. We caught up with the bands very own Julian Schweitzer to talk about all things Voyage, touring and even Steve James.
