ELLIOT THE BULL - SELF TITLED E.P

ELLIOT THE BULL E.P REVIEW AND TOUR NEWS

Brothers Jake and Simon Dobson, along with mates Jared Drennan and Milan Savic are Elliot the Bull. Their self titled E.P showcases influences from all over the place without sounding like a mess.

Not an easy feat to achieve. The E.P touches on country/pop/folk and a couple of tracks could sit quite easily on the soundtrack to Greys Anatomy (I am not comparing them to The Fray). The second track "Cup of Nestor" is a strong candidate for syndication on a HBO drama. I can see and hear it now.

For me the strength of this band lies in their ability to harmonise in rousing choruses that gallop along so easily you can't help but want join in. A perfect example of this type of chorus takes place on opening track "Paint The Sky".  Second to these qualities you can actually hear the mateship /kinship in the music and it makes for a great collaborative mood in the music.

Banjo intro's and subsequent metallic slices of the instrument throughout tracks 3 & 4 add the perfect amount of edge to the songs " Say You Love Me Too" and the thrilling conclusion to the E.P "Slept Through Winter."

On this particular E.P the band collaborated with producer Lachlan Mitchell (The Jezabels). Fortunately for punters they are about to embark on their first official tour of 2012, in order to showcase their new material. 2. E.P REVIEW - THE DELTA RIGGS - TALUPO MOUNTAIN MUSIC VOL.II

Thank you to sweet baby Jeebus for sending me this E.P. Straight up rock & roll, big guitars, acid vocals from too many goodtimes, thumpin' kick out the jams rhythm section and like all rock & roll that stands the test of time, sexy as hell.

  3. THE SWEET RESISTANCE E.P BY deerREPUBLIC REVIEWED

The phrase "sweet resistance" speaks to the non violent or passionate unwillingness to embrace something, nay anything and suits this E.P to a T.
