The legendary entertainer - whose album 'Liza's at the Palace' has been nominated in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category - has cancelled her plans to attend the Grammy Awards ceremony on January 31 because she will still be recovering from the operation in a New York hospital.Her spokesman insisted the operation was not serious, but a routine procedure in women of her age.
He said: "Liza, who has been dancing on stage since she was a teenager, is 63. She is expected to make a full recovery."
The iconic performer recently claimed she is incredible shape, but admitted she is starting to feel the effects of aging.
When asked her secrets to keeping fit, she said: 'Hard work and constant touring is a good start. When I am not touring and home in New York, I go to dance class every morning with my beloved Luigi at his dance studio. Between touring and Ron Lewis's tough rehearsals, I'm honed like a tennis player, even if time has slowed me just a tad.'
