This past week the life of Van Morrison has been one loopy soap opera.
Just after Christmas it was revealed on the Van Morrison official website and via a press release to all major news agencies including Undercover that at 64-years of age Van Morrison was the new proud father of George Ivan Morrison III to his business partner Gigi Lee.Morrison went into damage control claiming the announcement on his website was a hoax placed by a hacker, that he did not know who Gigi was and that basically we were all fools in the media for evening running the story.
Guess what? It turns out Gigi is very real and the director of 14 of Van Morrison’s companies. Little Van is also very real.
An expose by UK’s Daily Mirror has discovered that Dallas based Gigi was really Van Morrison’s tour manager and director in his companies. They have been seen together often and Gigi told all her friends she was pregnant with Van’s child back in June 2009.
Gigi claims she met Van Morrison in 1998 at, of all places, Ron Wood’s house. She was in London to attend the christening of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall’s son Gabriel.
Morrison issued a statement saying ‘For the avoidance of all doubt and in the interests of clarity, I am very happily married to Michelle Morrison with whom I have two wonderful children.’
