Back-up singer and performer Sam Moran has taken the helm as the Yellow Wiggle following Greg Page's illness.
While the kids may not notice (hey, they still believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy), Australia's most commercially successful musical act of recent years, The Wiggles, have replaced a member.Page had been suffering from a mystery illness resulting in fatigue and dizzy spells and took a break from performing during a recent US tour with Wiggle understudy of eight years Sam Moran filling in.
His condition has been diagnosed as orthostatic intolerance, a heart complaint that affects balance, speech and co-ordination. Page said in a statement, "It means that I'll no longer be able to sing and dance as I want to." The 34 year old handed the yellow skivvy over to Moran, but conceded, "I'll miss being a part of the Wiggles very much, but this is the right decision, because it will allow me to focus on managing my health."
The act said they had been discussing their future without Page, but red Wiggle Murray Cook stated that they never seriously contemplated breaking up. With reported earnings of almost $100 million over the last two years, why would they?
