After a single Cleveland show, Axl Rose boots support act Eagles Of Death Metal off his Guns N' Roses tour.
Following an opening set by Sebastian Bach, Eagles Of Death Metal took to the arena in Cleveland and, according to John Soeder of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, were met with "not deafening boos, but lots of grumbling and... indifference."After a two-hour wait, Axl appeared on stage and immediately said, "So how'd you like the Pigeons of Sh*t Metal? Don't worry, that's the last show they're playing with us." If it took so long for him to come up with that gem, it's no surprise 'Chinese Democracy' has taken almost a decade to finish.
The cult garage boogie band (with a very cheeky streak) took it all in their stride. Frontman Jesse "The Devil" Hughes quipped in a pithy statement, "At first the audience refused to welcome us to the jungle, but by the time we took our final bow, it had become paradise city. Although Axl tried to November rain on our parade, no sweet child o' mine can derail the EODM night train. We say live and let die."
We here at Undercover certainly know which band we'd rather see.
