The Australian Government is giving away a “Contemporary Music Touring Grant” to applicants who gets their arses into gear and submit an application.
The grant, spearheaded by Arts Minister Peter Garrett, who with 30 years experience as front man for Midnight Oil is no stranger to touring.“The Contemporary Music Touring Program has helped bands take an amazing range of music forms and styles on tour since the program began in 1999,” Garrett said in a press release.
“They have ranged from well-known performers such as Kate Miller-Heidke to start-up bands who are cutting their teeth on the circuit.
“You don’t need a high profile to qualify for funding. It’s about capacity-building and pleasing audiences by bringing them new and exciting music.”
