Ian Brown will not be charged with assault.
Brown has been released without charge after he was arrested last month on suspicion of assaulting his wife.The former Stone Roses frontman was detained after police were called to a disturbance at a house in West Kensington, London on November 3.
The 46-year-old was arrested and questioned on suspicion of attacking his Mexican model and actress wife of ten years Fabiola Quiroz, with whom he has a nine-year-old son.
He was bailed to return in December pending further inquiries.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman today confirmed that the man arrested over the incident had been released on bail and would face "no further action".
In September, Brown announced that he was planning to write and record an album with The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
And he also rubbished reports that he had signed up to a Stone Roses reunion tour.
They disbanded after the release of 1994 follow-up Second Coming.
