Kraftwerk have vowed to continue making music for the love of it.
In an interview with German magazine Speigel, 63 year old Ralph Hutter of the band said “Of course. Why should we stop doing what we love to do?” when asked if the band would continue.“I don’t see any difference, and birthdays do not interest me. We make our career as music workers like a serialised novel.”
Their last album was 2003’s ‘Tour De France Soundtracks’ (although new pressings of that album have dropped the word “soundtracks” from the title).
In 2008, founding member Florian Schneider left the group to embark of a solo career, however, the band will continue.
Recently, Kraftwerk released a box set containing eight of the band’s albums in a 12” case, called ‘The Catalogue’.
