Stereophonics Go Busking

Mon, 14 Dec 2009 06:48:29 +1100

Stereophonics spent the day busking in London on Sunday.

The band played an unannounced gig at Covent Garden’s Market Building, as part of the Covent Garden initiative, Super Busking. The gig will raise money for homeless charity Crisis.

Fans of Stereophonics had their opportunity to see their idols by texting the below number to find out about the timing of the gig.

As an area synonymous with street performance and musical heritage, Super Busking has found its natural home in Covent Garden and was so successful last year that it has returned bigger and better for 2009.

Other acts that have performed as part of Super Busking include Athlete, Jamie Cullum and the Feeling.

Playing underneath Covent Garden’s beautifully crafted giant snowflake decorations, intertwined with a bespoke light installation by arts and design collective United Visual Artists, the Super Busking pop stars will get everyone in the festive mood and singing along!

As well as Super Busking, Covent Garden’s A Very Merry Christmas offers old-fashioned nostalgia. Recognizing it has been a hard year for most, A Very Merry Christmas will provide a warm, traditional and family-focussed programme of events that will warm the heart and soul, while spreading Christmas cheer to all.
