If you scroll through the 200 new acts just named for SXSW next year you will notice Pegi Young is on the list.
Pegi is the wife of Neil Young and singer with the Neil Young Electric Band.Pegi Young was expected to release ‘Foul Deeds’, her second album this year, but something went astray.
A note at her website states, “due to circumstances beyond my control, my CD and live shows have been postponed until further notice”.
Pegi released her first album, the self-titled ‘Pegi Young’ in 2007. The album combined 30 years of work into one disc including songs she wrote in the 70s but never recorded.
The album also has that familiar feel because it features the members of the Electric Band, Anthony Crawford, Chad Crowell, Ben Keith, Spooner Oldham, Rick Rosas and, of course, Neil Young.
There is still no official word as to when ‘Foul Deeds’ will be released but with the news of a SXSW showcase for Pegi Young, we can bet it will be around March 2010.
