Nielsen SoundScan will release the list of biggest acts of the last 10 years later today and it will be an Eminem vs Beatles battle.
Eminem has sold 32.2 million albums in the last 10 years and The Beatles hover at around 30 million so it looks like Eminem is going to be the Star of the Decade.That's not bad for The Beatles though, considering next year will be the 40th anniversary of their break-up.
It looks like The Beatles will have the biggest selling album of the decade as well. ‘1’ sold 11.5 million compared to N’Sync ‘No Strings Attached’ with 11.1 million.
Lady Gaga is the biggest selling digital act of the decade clocking up 13.6 million tracks sold compared to number 2 place holder Michael Jackson on 11.6 million and Black Eyed Peas at 3 with 11.1 million downloads.
The most popular songs at radio according to Nielsen BDS were 1. Nickelback ‘How You Remind Me’ with 1.2 million plays followed by Train ‘Drops of Jupiter’ and Lifehouse ‘Hanging By A Moment’.
