The Killers have recorded a version of The Eagles classic ‘Hotel California’ for not-for-profit organisation Artists Planet Earth (APE).
The cover sees the band give a salsa flavour, with the help of the APE house band Rhythms Del Mundo, who add horns and percussion to the tune. The band manage to pay tribute to the original song while adding a distinct new touch to it, although it doesn’t exactly sound like The Killers to me...
APE is a charity which aims to reduce the impact of climate change, as well as help fund natural disaster relief. In the last month, the charity has raised over $US100,000.

You can also get the song on the Rivers Del Mundo album ‘Classics’, which sees artists as diverse as Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse and The Rolling Stones cover various tracks and it is all for a good cause.
