Up and coming rock band The Thirst have had the fright of their lives last week when London cops arrested the band at gunpoint.
The police were called when a CCTV operator reported seeing a handgun in the band’s van.The band were busted after their show at The Oak in Burntwood, although no weapon was ever found.
“I heard a helicopter, I heard some dogs and I could see a lot of activity,” the band’s manager Kingsley Slater told the BBC.
“I thought I was on a film set. Then I saw the lead singer with his hands in the air.”
The band are considering legal action after they were wrongly arrested, with front man Cofie Agyeman telling NME “We've just spoken to a solicitor and it looks like we've got a case now. It comes down to no other thing - and it's sad to say in this day and age - but it just comes down to racism. That's all it can come down to. There was no reason for them to jump to that conclusion.”
A statement issued by Staffodshire Police confirms that the band were innocent.
