An exhibition of photographs of Jeff Buckley, including the one used for the `Grace` album cover, has opened in Melbourne.
American rock photographer Merri Cyr was at last night’s official opening of her exhibition at the Raw Gallery in South Melbourne.‘Jeff Buckley - A Wished For Song’ features selections from her book ‘A Wished For Song - A Portrait of Jeff Buckley’.
As part of the exhibition, this Sunday night (November 29), The Raw Gallery will host a talk and a book signing by Merri about the photographs.
Merri Cyr met Buckley in 1992 and worked with him for five years. She will give a candid account of their time together and an insight into the career of music photography.
“Even from that first shoot I felt a definite sense of play and a willingness on the part of Jeff to be open to experimentation that made photographing him an adventure,” she said in a statement.
Tickets for the talk are $65 and include a copy of the book.
The Jeff Buckley exhibition will be on until December 24 at the Raw Gallery, 250 Park St, South Melbourne.
‘A Wished For Song - A Portrait of Jeff Buckley’ is published in Australia through Hal Leonard.
