Jack Johnson will return to Australia in April to headline Bluesfest 2010.
Johnson was in Australia this year for Sound Relief and last year played a sold out 28,000 capacity Centennial Park show in Sydney as well as two Myer Music Bowl shows in Melbourne.Johnson will bring his long-time band including Adam Topol (drums), Merlo Podlewski (bass) and Zach Gill (keys) along for the shows.
“Surfs up in Byron this Easter,” Jack said in a statement.
Festival Director Peter Noble added, “Without doubt this will be one of Bluesfest’s great and historical moments. I am so honoured to present Jack Johnson again - someone who is probably the most successful artist we’ve ever introduced to Australian audiences. We first presented him in 2002 at a time before he was a household name, but despite his incredible triumphs, he remains an incredibly down to earth and admirable person.
