Green Day returned to the studio this week to record a new version of their song `21 Guns` with the cast of the musical American Idiot.
American Idiot, based on the Green Day 2004 album of the same name, premiered in Berkeley in September. The show is currently playing at the Berkeley Rep and had its season extended.Billie Joe Armstrong is producing the new version of the song that will be released digitally by the end of this month.
The band will also shoot a video for the song with the musical’s cast.
’21 Guns’ is the second single from the ‘21st Century Breakdown’ album.
Green Day will head to Australia next month for a national tour. Jet were recently added as special guests on the show.
