Jack White has been confirmed as the producer of the next Wanda Jackson album.
White, who is best known as the White Stripes front man, as well as playing in Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, has produced his own records, as well as the 2004 release from country superstar Loretta Lynn, ‘Van Lear Rose’.Jackson told The Oaklahoman, “They had a super album, but he didn't have her do anything different. She just did her little Loretta Lynn songs. But he told me he's gonna stretch me some.”
Jackson began her career in 1955 when she toured with her father, who doubled as her manager. She often shared the bill with Elvis Presley and at live shows has often recounted the story of the time she kissed him.
It was Presley who convinced her to sing rockabilly, and she went on to have numerous hits. The song ‘Tunnel Of Love’ became a cult hit over the years, although it was never a hit at the time.
There is no word of when the record will be released.
