Beyonce was the big winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards this week grabbing three gongs.
The singer fought off X Factor winner Leona Lewis to land the Best Female gong at last night's ceremony in Berlin, Germany.She also won Best Song for Halo and Best Video for Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) which she dedicated to rapper husband Jay-Z, for "putting a ring on it".
Jay-Z was also in the city to perform with U2 at a free open-air concert at the Brandenburg Gate to coincide with the event, which was held in the city to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
He joined the Irish rockers, who won Best Live Act, for their hit Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Jay-Z won the Best Urban award, but told the crowd: "I go to the studio just like the Jonas Brothers, just like Green Day, and we're all just artists at the end of the day."
For the second year running, the ceremony was hosted by singer Katy Perry, who set the tone for the evening by asking the crowd: "Are you feeling sexy, Berlin?"
Perry, who is dating British comedian Russell Brand, managed seven costumes changes throughout the night, and performed a medley of the five best song contenders, including Halo and and Kings of Leon's Use Somebody.
Eminem won Best Male, fending off Robbie Williams and Mika, while the Best World Stage gong went to Linkin Park.
Pixie Lott, who was pronounced the inaugural MTV push artist, accepted the award via video link and said: "It has been a very amazing, crazy year so I want to say thank you to everyone who has voted for me."
The show was broadcast to more than 500 million homes around the world.
