Eric Clapton has pulled out of an appearance at the Rock and Roll Hall concert this week for medical reasons and Bruce Springsteen may also be a late withdrawal.
Clapton, who was due to perform in New York, has to have gallstones removed, his publicist says.A statement from his publicist read, “Eric will spend time recuperating at home in the UK and is very sorry to disappoint the fans and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
The show this Friday also features U2, Aretha Franklin, Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne.
Bruce Springsteen may also pull out of the show due to a death in his family earlier this week.
A statement at Bruce Springsteen’s website reads, Lenny Sullivan, Bruce's cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last ten years, passed away today at the age of 36. A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family”.
