Following the sad death of Paul Hester, Neil Finn announces a reunion with Crowded House bassist Nick Seymour.
Speaking to Billboard.com, Finn spoke of his new solo album, due for release in 2007. The death of Crowded House drummer Hester brought the members together again. Finn said of Seymour as a companion on the new album, "working together again feels really good. It felt natural and right. We've been good company for each other."This is the first time Finn and Seymour have hit the studio together since the three new songs recorded for their Greatest Hits album of 1996 'Recurring Dream'. Hester and Seymour worked together in a project called Tarmac Adam in 2003.
Finn, now based in London, told Billboard that the new album is almost finished. It's the first solo release since 2001's 'One Nil' album. It was recorded at his home studio in Auckland and mixed back in the UK at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios.
November 18 sees the release of the double CD 'Farewell To The World". It's the first ever Crowded House live album, showcasing their final performances at the Sydney Opera House ten years ago.
