Julian Lennon has put together a charity single to honor his friend Lucy Vodden, the inspiration for his father`s song `Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds`’.
John Lennon wrote the Beatles classic after Julian came home from school and showed him the drawing of his classmate Lucy. Lennon wrote the song from that inspiration and today it remains one of The Beatles greatest works.Julian was in the studio working on backing vocals for a song titled ‘Lucy’ by James Scott Cook, an artist on his new company theRevolution.
When they heard of Lucy’s death a few weeks ago, producer Todd Meagher suggested they turn the song into a tribute.
“I am honored to be a part of a song that might help people remember Lucy Vodden, bring some attention to Lupus and hopefully add a chapter to the unique story of inspiration that Lucy came to represent. Not to mention working with Julian Lennon was awesome," Cook said in a statement.
Lennon formed theRevolution with former Bebo CEO Michael Birch. The company assists artists to become businesses and then invests in the businesses.
