The Jackson Jive send-up of the Jacksons on Hey Hey Its Saturday this week has made its way back to Marlon Jackson and the Jackson member says he was not offended.
Jackson told Access Hollywood “they probably weren’t trying to be offensive about it, or anything of that nature, with the family. We want to thank Harry for speaking out but we also understand that they weren’t trying to be disrespectful to the family.”The controversy arose from last Wednesday’s reunion ‘Hey Hey It’s Saturday’ show on Australian television featuring Harry Connick Jr guest judging the comedy segment Jackson Jive on Red Faces.
Connick was offended by the racist tones of the Black Face sketch and said if he had known it was going to be on the show then he would not have appeared.
Host Daryl Somers graciously later apologised to the New Orleans star.
