Singer songwriter Alex Lloyd has won his legal battle over his hit song `Amazing` with a judge ruling that Lloyd wrote the song.
Mark Edward O’Keefe sued Lloyd for royalties after claiming they wrote the song together in 1991.‘Amazing’ was a top 10 hit for Lloyd in 2001 and topped the Triple J Hottest 100 list that year. Why it has taken O’Keefe this long to act is unknown.
In a statement today also says, “Mr O’Keefe has lost his case and been ordered to pay costs.
“It has been a long and extremely frustrating and ugly affair.
“I feel an incredible sense of relief and release from the weight of these false accusations.
“That said I would like to thank my family, friends and colleagues for all of their love and support. In particular, I would like to thank my wife Amelia who has been a beacon of light and tower of strength.
“Last but not least I would like to thank my barrister Andrew Coleman of Banco Chambers and Danielle See and Stephen Gorry of HDY for the guidance and attention to detail in matters of the law.
“I look forward to a brand new beginning.
“Thanks for your time”.
