A painting of Michael Jackson done by Andy Warhol is expected to sell for between $125,000 and $150,000 when it goes to auction next week.
Warhol was commissioned by Time Magazine to create the painting that was used as a cover for the magazine.The painting is the lead item for the Prints Masterworks collection.
The painting has never appeared at auction before and is the second Warhol Jackson painting to be offered since the singer’s death.
The auction will also include paintings by Roy Lichtenstein and Pablo Picasso.
Lichtenstein’s 1965 painting ‘Sweet Dreams Baby’ is expected to sell for up to $85,000 at the auction.
