The MusiCares Foundation will honour Neil Young for his work in the music industry prior to the 2010 Grammy Awards.
Young will be named MusiCares Person of the Year at a dinner at the L.A. Convention Center on January 29, two days before the Grammy Awards."Neil has set a standard of artistic integrity and iconoclastic creativity for more than four decades, and his achievements have been matched by his unwavering humanitarianism," said Neil Portnow, CEO and President of the Recording Academy and the MusiCares Foundation said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Neil Young fans can look forward to the imminent release of his first four albums, digitally remastered.
‘Neil Young’, ‘Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere’, ‘After The Gold Rush’ and ‘Harvest’ were remastered from the original tapes using the album mixes and no other remixing was allowed.
The remastered will be released through Warner on August 24.
