John Hughes, one of the great pop culture movie-makers of our time, has died of a heart attack at the age of 59.
Hughes was in New York visiting family ad out walking when he suffered the heart attack.John Hughes movies include National Lampoon’s Vacation, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck and Home Alone 1 and 2.
Hughes made stars out of unknown kids. Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Grey, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, James Spader, Andrew McCarthy and Jon Cryer all rose to fame via John Hughes movies.
