The South by Southwest Conference and Festival will return for its 24nd year from March 12 and 21 in Austin, Texas.
SXSW features three conferences during that period:Interactive March 12 to 16
Film March 12 and 20
Music March 17 to 21
SXSW is Disneyland for the music industry. In 2009 during the music conference more than 2000 acts showcased over four nights across more than 80 venues.
This year’s keynote speaker was Quincy Jones. Metallica and Kanye West performed for surprise unannounced shows. Aussie acts like The Grates, Josh Pyke and Gabrilla Cilmi showcased at the Aussie BBQ while Guy Sebastian performed at APRA’s Sounds Australia event.
