Concrete Jungle, the debut album from Diafrix, will be released this Friday.
The Melbourne hip-hop act feature African refugees Azmarino and Momo and they told their story to Undercover in the lead-up to the release.Azmarino says he is excited about where hip-hop is in Australia right now. “This year in Australia hip-hop is in a very good state. Hip-hop is a roots music but three years ago if you rapped on top of something it was known as hip-hop. Two or three years ago to attract people to hip-hop you had to have reggae because no-one was going to come and listen to one genre of music.”
