The Mercury Music Prize is back for another year, with an as-usual incredibly eclectic range of artists nominated for the £20,000 prize.
Favourites to win include indie rockers Glasvegas (for their self-titled debut), Leeds electro-rockers Kasabian for their third album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ and Florence and the Machine’s record ‘Lungs’.Bat For Lashes are another band with indie cool as are the harder-edged The Horrors.
The prize is judged by a panel of music critics, artists and industry personnel and the winner receives £20,000 and an arse-load of publicity.
