Video from the rehearsal the night before Michael Jackson died has been released by concert promoter AEG Live to show that Jackson was in good health the day before his death.
AEG Live is reported to have taken out a $100 million life insurance policy on Jackson and it is in the interests of the company to show the insurance company that Jackson’s death was no related to a pre-existing condition when he signed the insurance forms.Randy Phillips, the head of AEG Live, says he was with Jackson the night before he died.
He told MTV that Jackson was “in good health”.
Phillips also said it was Jackson’s idea to hire Dr Conrad Murray against his wishes. “Michael told me, 'You don't understand. My body is the machine that fuels this business and I need personal care and I want a doctor 24/7 like President Obama would have and this is my doctor,” he said in the MTV interview.
On that final night as he left Jackson, Michael said to him, “Now I know I can do this”.
AEG Live has released footage of the rehearsal of ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ to show how buoyant Michael was the night before he died.
