Michael Jackson has sold 2,950,000 downloads around the world since his death last Thursday according to Nielsen SoundScan International.
Figures released today show that the figure of almost 3 million units compares to the 52,000 Jackson tracks downloaded in the week prior to his death.If we include Jacksons and Jackson 5 songs as well, Jackson has sold 3.3 million downloads this past week.
The most popular song fans have downloaded is ‘Thriller’. In the past week it sold 167,000 units. Since 2004, the song ‘Thriller’ as a download had sold in total 300,000 units.
The second most popular Jackson download this week is ‘Man In The Mirror’ (164,000 downloads).
For the week ending June 28th, 2009, worldwide download sales for Jackson’s most popular songs were:
