Tonight (June 27, 2009) is opening night for a month long residency of `Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story` at Melbourne`s Crown Casino.
‘Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story’ tells the story of the remarkable short story of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper.Just 18 months after Holly had his first hit, the rock and roll trio were killed in a plane crash.
‘Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story’ has been in production around the world continuously for the last 19 years.
Scott Cameron plays Buddy Holly. Scott has been performing since he was 7. He started his career opening for comedian Steady Eddy and has performed with Tommy & Phil Emmanuel, Slim Dusty and Lee Kernaghan.
Luke Tonkin plays The Big Bopper. Luke was a finalist in Operatunity Oz in 2006 on the ABC.
Flip Simmons is Ritchie Valens. He has performed over the years with Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Delta Goodrem and Christine Anu.
‘Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story’ is on until July 23 at The Palms, Crown Casino, Melbourne.
