Midget love machine and recluse Prince comes out of hiding for a Las Vegas residency.
After years of record company squabbling and odd personal affectations, Prince is back. His 2006 album '3121' was a huge comeback, debuting at number one on the US charts. He's also recently come out of self-imposed hiding to play the Brit Awards, as well as appearing on Saturday Night Live and on the American Idol finale. Now, Reuters reports that the Purple One has set up shop in Las Vegas for regular performances. He'll be playing at a jazz club within the Rio Hotel on the Vegas Strip, which has recently been renamed 3121 Jazz Cuisine. The slinky funk and soul legend promises Friday and Saturday night performances for an "indefinite" time. The first show will be on November 10 and ticket prices reportedly start at $125.
He joins superannuated megastars like Celine Dion, Barry Manilow and Elton John who have also taken up residencies in the notoriously flashy party town. But there's no doubt that Prince's forthcoming shows will be the hottest ticket in Sin City.
