The fame is in the concert tour but the money is in the corporate gig. Susan Boyle has just been introduced to benefits of big business.
While the Scottish singer failed to win the Britain’s Got Talent reality talent show, she has hit pay dirt with offers following in from the corporate sector.Boyle is worth £UK100,000 ($AUD200,000) for a 12 minute set according to News of the World.
Susan Boyle is still on government income support in the UK but as the corporate gigs start flowing through, she will begin to make more money in one month than she has made in all of her lifetime.
Artists rarely talk about the corporate gig publically. It is viewed as a necessary evil, where are artist can “sell-out” to big business, sing whatever they want to hear, pocket the cash and then go home with the real fans none the wiser.
Boyle will not make anything from her Britain’s Got Talent tour. The acts get their expenses covered. That’s all.
The man who will change all that is Andy Pountain, Managing Director of the Industry Music Group. He has become Susan’ agent.
The Industry Music Group looks after all Britain’s Got Talent finalists.
Boyle has also signed her management to Ossie Kilkenny, a former accountant who once managed the business affairs of Van Morrison, Oasis and The Verve.
Her record deal is a done deal. That is with Simon Cowell’s Syco record label.
Expect an album soon.
