Evan has taken legal action against General Motors for using one of his songs in an advert without his permission.The Lemonheads frontman has sued the US car maker after it re-recorded his song It's A Shame About Ray and violating the copyright.
The singer is seeking damages and a portion of profits from the 2008 TV campaign for Chevrolet and Buick models.
GM, which has been hit by the economic crisis, recently sought federal protection from bankruptcy.
It has yet to respond to the claims.
