Australian record producer and performer Russell Dunlop has died just days after the music world lost Ian Miller.
Russell’s credits include the producer credits for Machinations ‘Esteem’, Mental As Anything’s ‘Cats and Dogs’ and ‘Creatures of Leisure’, Jon English ‘Words Are Not Enough’ and Doug Ashdown ‘Winter In America’.With producer Bruce Brown, Russell had his own hit in 1980 as Player with ‘Space Invaders and as The Monitors they graced the charts with ‘Singing In The 80s’.
According to friend Amanda Pelman, “Russell was playing at his son’s wedding when he complained of feeling ill after the first set and that was it”.
The music world was also saddened to hear of the death of Ian Miller on Thursday. Ian played with John Paul Young and fronted his own Ian Miller Band.
