With the Simon and Garfunkel Australian tour less and a month away now, Undercover will bring you the classic moments of Simon and Garfunkel this week. Today, the debut album ‘Wednesday Morning 3AM’.
‘Wednesday Morning 3AM’ was released on October 19, 1964. It contained the now classic hit ‘The Sounds of Silence’.The album was produced by Tom Wilson and engineered by a much younger Roy Halee, who decades later road the soundboard for Simon’s ‘Graceland’.
Despite that classic song, ‘Wednesday Morning 3AM’ was a flop. However, 18 months later, in January 1966 it was re-released and road up to the modest position 30 on the Billboard chart. Nothing stunning, but it was a start.
