Good Charlotte member Joel Madden was ordered by British Airways to cover his tattoos or not get on a British Airways flight over the weekend.
“Was just told by a British Air person I can’t get on the plane till I cover my tatts,” be posted minutes later on Twitter. “Should I fight the power?”He then added “I am actually in shock he won’t let me on the plane till I put long sleeves on and other BA rep is disagreeing”.
In additional posts he continued “I can’t believe Brit Air discriminated me for tatts. Unheard of. The guy was literally disgusted by me. I’m gonna write a letter”.
“I did end up covering my tats. Its not my style to cause a scene. I just had a convo with the BA guy told him how it was discrimination.”
“Yes I covered up to board the BA flight. I didn’t want to miss it. And honestly, I was embarrassed all the people were staring and laughing”.
“Its not in the rules that I can find. My tatts aren’t offensive. Looking into it. I Haven’t felt this small since the first time I asked Nic out”.
“Finally in bed after a good 36 hours of craziness. 3 flights. Tattoo discrimination from BA, and a music video later, here I am”.
This is going to turn ugly for British Airways. Because of the actions of one moronic staff member, the company has lost credibility, displayed a complete lack of regard for passengers and customer service and, thanks to singling out a rather well-to-do celebrity, will most likely get sued.
Good one, British Airways. Fire your moronic staff member and apologize to Joel.
