A new George Harrison compilation spanning his total career and various labels will be released by EMI in June.
EMI announced ‘Let It Roll: The Songs Of George Harrison’ on April 14 at the unveiling of George’s star outside the Capitol Records tower in Vine Street.The album will include all of George’s songs that reached number one of the Billboard chart as well as three live Beatles songs ‘Something’, ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ and ‘Here Comes The Sun’ from the Concert for Bangla Desh.
Harrison hits include ‘My Sweet Lord’, ‘Isn’t It A Pity’, ‘Give Me Love’ and ‘Got My Mind Set On You’.
The album will be released on June 16.
George’s star was unveiled that day with an all-star appearance from his friends Tom Hanks, Tom Petty, Eric Idle, Jeff Lynne, Joe Walsh, T-Bone Burnett, Paul McCartney and his wife Olivia and son Dhani.
When Eric Idle was asked what George would think of the star he said, “I thought I heard his voice, and it said, ‘It’s a bunch of old bollocks.’ ”
