Sydney band The Glass Ceiling has only been doing it for a about a year.
The band is battling for a slot on the round one of The JD Set in a contest to tour the country with You Am I.Although you can consider The Glass Ceiling a fairly new act, they have already reached a level of success when they reached runner-up status on Toohey’s Uncharted in 2008.
Their silver trophy win gave them the opportunity to lay down some tracks at 301 with Tim Carr.
From those sessions, they released their debut E.P. ‘Reparations’. It is all about “basslines that make you sit up and listen,” says The Glass Ceiling’s Richmond.
The biggest gig to date was the Lawn Party Festival at Randwick Race Course. They had 7.500 sets of eyeballs watching them that day.
The year will be spent writing and recording and hopefully touring with You Am I.
You can sample their sounds at their MySpace site
