Beck’s indie album `One Foot In The Grave` is getting a make-over.
The album was released on K Records just 4 months after Beck’s break-through album ‘Mellow Gold’ although it was recorded before it.K Records was owned by Calvin Johnson, who did backing vocals on the album. Calvin’s recording studio was in the basement of his house.
Johnson was a founding member of The Go Team and Dub Narcotic Sound System.
Artists who have recorded for K Records include Kimya Dawson, Built To Spill, Chicks On Speed, Bikini Kill and Shonen Knife.
‘One Foot In The Grave’ has never had any mainstream success. To date, it has sold 168,000 copies in the USA but it is considered an important part of Beck history.
